Our interaction with social media is an interesting one, we take physical experiences that we encounter and post it online where it can live forever. It sounds like a great deal, but there’s a catch, you can’t feel that beautiful sunset you captured on your camera phone once you turn it into cold one’s and zero’s.

I wanted to post images online and then use the in-built app editors and filters to change the image into something that it originally wasn’t, then snatch those images back and make physical work with them.

The act of posting then taking the images back into the vulnerable relm of physicallity, demonstrates a defiance to the virtual world.

I chose to create the collages onto wood to show them in natural state, and I screen printed onto glass which is then suspended over the wood, rendering it as another screen to pass through.
